Ledger : A party's main accounting records. A general ledger is a complete record of financial transactions over the life of a party. The ledger holds account information that is needed to prepare financial statements, and includes accounts for assets, liabilities, owners' equity, revenues and expenses.
To view the all type of transactions for a particular account select the account form the account list and click on the Ledger Button as shown in the Fig 1 of Create New Account.

Month Totals : Month Totals shows the Debit, Credit and Running Balance of the account for all the months.
To view the totals for all the transactions for a month for a particular account select the account from the account list and click on Month Total Button as shown in Fig 1 of Create New Account.
